Overview:
We are recruiting for an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations on a variety of civil engineering projects across Aberdeenshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all works are carried out safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all on-site activities and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with all HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality) standards
- Oversee project progress and provide accurate reporting to senior management
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Manage site resources including labour, materials, and plant
- Prepare and maintain accurate site records (diaries, progress reports, delivery logs)
- Identify hazards, assess risk, and prepare RAMS as required
- Deliver job instructions and toolbox talks to the site team
- Chair or attend site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, statutory bodies, and stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
- Assist commercial teams with measurement and valuations
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving site issues effectively
- Support tender reviews and contribute to project delivery strategies
- Coach and develop site teams, promoting a strong safety culture and positive morale
- Monitor staff performance and undertake appraisals
Requirements:
- SMSTS accreditation
- CSCS (Black or Gold)
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, planning, and H&S regulations
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
- Technical qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline (desirable)
