The role and responsibilities
As a Site Manager, you will be a key part of the substation build team, delivering projects across multiple locations including Andover, Swindon and Chippenham. You will be doing:
·Coordinating and supervising construction activities from start to completion
·Acting as the main point of contact for clients on site
·Managing works on 11kV to 132kV distribution networks
·Overseeing installation of switchgear, transformers and cabling
·Supervising construction of switch houses and transformer enclosures
·Ensuring health, safety and quality standards are met at all times
You will also be responsible for:
·Managing site teams and subcontractors
·Monitoring progress against programme and budgets
·Ensuring compliance with NEC contracts
·Reporting on site performance and project milestones
Must have skills and experience
To be successful in this Site Manager role, you will have:
·Experience in site management or site supervision
·Strong background in substation construction projects
·Experience working on 11kV to 132kV networks
·Knowledge of switchgear, transformers and cabling installations
·Experience working on 132kV substations
·A construction or civil engineering background
·Understanding of NEC contracts
Certifications required
You will ideally hold:
·Qualification in Construction, Civil or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
·CITB SMSTS
·SSE Substation Entry Training
·Temporary Works Supervisor certification
It would be beneficial if you also have:
·CAT 3 SSE Authorising certification
