Site Manager
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their team, delivering a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across North and South Cumbria.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong civil engineering or utilities background to play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the safe delivery of construction activities on site.
- Lead site teams and subcontractors to achieve programme milestones.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to maximise productivity.
- Monitor project progress and report on programme performance.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the wider project team.
- Ensure all site documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues to minimise delays.
- Promote a positive safety culture and high-quality workmanship.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
- Experience delivering water and/or wastewater projects is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and health & safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site activities.
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Temporary Works awareness (desirable)
- NRSWA Supervisor (desirable)
- EUSR Water Hygiene (desirable)
