Site Maintenance Operative

Smile Education are-currently recruiting for-an experienced Senior-Maintenance Operative to-start as soon-as possible at-a well-established-organisation based in-Harborne, Birmingham.

The successful applicant-will be responsible-for-carrying out a-wide range of-planned and reactive-maintenance duties, ensuring-buildings and facilities-are maintained to-a high-standard. This is-a hands-on-role requiring a-skilled multi-trade-operative with experience-in general building-maintenance, particularly-plastering, carpentry,-decorating, and general-repairs.
This is an-excellent opportunity to-join a supportive-and-professional team within-a respected organisation. The expected pay-rate for the-role is between16.00 - -17.00 per-hour, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carrying out general-building repairs and-maintenance across the-site.
• Completing plastering, carpentry, decorating, and other-multi-trade maintenance-tasks.
• Responding promptly to-planned-and reactive maintenance-requests.
• Supporting the Maintenance-Manager with a-variety of repair-and maintenance projects.
• Ensuring-all work is-completed safely, efficiently, and to a-high standard.
• Operating tools and-equipment safely and-in line-with health and-safety procedures.
• Undertaking manual handling-tasks, including lifting-and moving equipment-and materials where-required.
• Responding appropriately-to emergency-maintenance situations.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised-working environment.
• Supporting colleagues and-providing cover where-required.

The Ideal Candidate-Will:

• Have previous experience-working as a-Maintenance-Operative, Multi-Trade-Operative, or Building-Maintenance Technician.
• Hold a minimum-Level 2 qualification-in a-relevant trade, with-plastering being essential.
• Have experience in-carpentry, decorating,-and general building-maintenance.
• Be physically fit-and capable of-carrying out manual-handling duties.
• Be able to-work independently and-use their own-initiative.
• Demonstrate a mature, reliable, and professional-approach to work.
• Hold a-full UK driving-licence.
• Have a-good understanding of-health and safety-procedures.
