The Best Connection are seeking an experienced Onsite Fitter to join our Nottingham site, with specific responsibility for maintaining and supporting the site shredder - a critical piece of plant central to operational throughput and site performance.This is a highly skilled maintenance role requiring strong mechanical expertise, fault-finding capability and the ability to respond quickly to breakdowns. Downtime on the shredder has a direct impact on production, revenue and operational efficiency, so technical competence and decisiveness are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on the shredder and associated plantDiagnose mechanical faults quickly and implement effective repairsRespond to breakdowns as a priority to minimise operational downtimeConduct inspections and identify wear, damage or potential failure pointsReplace and repair components including bearings, shafts, hydraulics, motors and drive systemsLiaise with the Shredder Manager regarding performance, downtime trends and required partsMaintain accurate maintenance records and job reportsEnsure critical spares are identified and communicatedSupport continuous improvement in plant reliability and efficiencyMaintain high standards of housekeeping within the maintenance areaHealth, Safety and ComplianceWork in accordance with site Health and Safety proceduresFollow lock-out / tag-out procedures when working on machineryEnsure safe systems of work are adhered to at all ..... full job details .....
