Salary: -45,000 - -50,000 + car/car allowance + package

A leading UK civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Site Engineer to support delivery across a portfolio of water and infrastructure projects. Operating as a tier-one partner on major frameworks, this is an opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of secured work and a clear focus on long-term career development.
This role will suit a Site Engineer with experience in civil engineering or water sector projects who is looking for stability, technical variety and progression within a well-established organisation.
The role
You will provide site engineering support across multiple schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with design requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting out works in accordance with contract drawings and establishing survey control
- Carrying out regular checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Producing site documentation including ITPs, task briefings, site diaries and allocation sheets
- Supporting planning with short-term programmes and 2-week lookaheads
- Resolving technical queries and site-based issues as they arise
- Coordinating with procurement to ensure resources and materials are available
- Promoting high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality
- Identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement
About you
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Essential:
- Experience setting out on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of construction methods, health & safety and industry standards
- Experience using total stations or similar surveying equipment
- Degree or HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Experience within the water sector or utilities frameworks
- AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency
- Temporary works knowledge
- CSCS card and relevant site certifications (e.g. First Aid, IOSH/NEBOSH)
