Site Engineer - Utilities

Carmichael UK are currently recruiting for an experienced Utilities Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure package on the HS2 project in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile civil engineering projects, supporting critical utilities and infrastructure works across the route.

We are looking for a proactive and technically strong engineer with previous experience working on large-scale civil engineering, highways, rail, or utility diversion projects.

• Setting out and surveying for utilities and infrastructure works
• Managing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely and to programme
• Coordinating utility diversions including water, gas, electric, telecoms, and drainage
• Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, and QA documentation
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Liaising with site teams, designers, and client representatives
• Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
• Supporting delivery teams with technical engineering expertise

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or utilities projects
• Experience working on highways, rail, infrastructure, or utility diversion packages
• Competent with setting out equipment including Leica or Trimble
• Strong understanding of QA processes and engineering documentation
• CSCS Card essential
• SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
• NRSWA advantageous
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
