About the Role

RGB requires an experienced Site Engineer for a live highways project in Newton Abbot on a long-term contract, paying £325 to £350 per day (Umbrella – PAYE). The successful candidate will set out for highways works including drainage, kerbing, earthworks and pavement construction. Duties also involve producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built drawings, and ensuring delivery in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements. Close collaboration with Site Management, subcontractors and the wider project team is essential, alongside compliance with current health and safety standards. Applicants should hold solid highways and civils experience and demonstrate a proactive approach.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a live highways project in Newton Abbot on a contract basis. This is a long-term opportunity on a well-established scheme, suitable for a proactive engineer with solid highways and civils experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for highways works including drainage, kerbing, earthworks and pavement construction
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built drawings
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements
- Working closely with Site Management, subcontractors and the wider project team
- Ensuring all works comply with current health and safety standards
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering / highways projects
- Civil Engineering qualification
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office and Trimle
- Strong understanding of health and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to prioritise time-critical work
- Excellent communication and liaison skills
- SMSTS
- First Aid
- Relevant CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
