Site Engineer
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and professional Site Engineer to join a major highway infrastructure project in Penrith, Cumbria. This initiative involves the development of a dual carriageway, with a specific focus on complex earthworks and drainage infrastructure for the A66 scheme. Due to project requirements, we are looking for candidates who are available to start immediately.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee site operations, managing both direct labour and subcontracted teams.
- Execute precise setting out, conduct dimensional checks, and maintain rigorous survey records.
- Perform quality assurance tasks, including compaction testing and volume take-offs.
- Develop essential documentation, including Works Package Plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff while maintaining accurate daily site diaries.
Qualifications
- Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Site Engineer with a Tier 1 contractor, specifically in highways.
- Valid UK driving licence, CSCS card, and SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- Advanced technical ability in reading engineering drawings and managing site logistics.
Employment Details
- Contract Type: 3 month contract with the potential for extension
- Salary: up to -440 per day (Umbrella rate, inside IR35)
- Location: Penrith, Cumbria
