Site Engineer
Job Title: Site Engineer - Isle of Skye Reinforcement Project (-350/Day CIS)
The Role & Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the major Isle of Skye Reinforcement Project. This is an ongoing contract opportunity with a competitive rate of -350/day (CIS).
The project involves significant infrastructure development running from Invergarry to the Isle of Skye.
Key Project Scope (Fort Augustus to Broadford)
As the Site Engineer, you will be involved in the following critical aspects of the reinforcement project:
- Construction of a new double circuit 132kV overhead line (OHL) using steel structures.
- Installation of 9km of underground cable leading into the Fort Augustus Substation.
- Dismantling and removal of the existing trident wood pole OHL (Fort Augustus to Quich Tee) and the steel lattice OHL (Skye Tee to Broadford) once the new line is operational.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must possess the following experience and skills:
- Extensive civils experience, specifically in earthworks and drainage.
- Proficiency in using GPS for survey and setting out, with good knowledge of VRS/sim card.
- Ability to set up GPS from base stations and repeaters, essential due to the remote nature of the site.
- Competency in using Civil 3D / Trimble earthworks.
- Must hold a full clean driving license.
Logistics and Schedule
- Work Location: Invergarry to the Isle of Skye.
- Accommodation: Provided in a serviced house in Inverness initially, until the onsite camp accommodation in Invergarry is operational.
- Schedule: The current work week is a standard 5 days on / 2 days off. Once construction is fully underway, the rotation will transition to a 10 days on / 4 days off (10/4) schedule.
