Site Engineer

Excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer / Section Engineer to join an excellent Main contractor working on civils and water projects in the Southampton area 

My client will consider canddiates with a background in civils or M & E 

This is a long term career opportunity where you will be supported and encouraged to progress within the company

Working as part of the site management team, you will liaise with planners, subcontractors, supervisors and surveyors.

Responsibilities of the Site Engineer / Section Engineer

• Implementation and ensuring compliance to Safe systems of work in line with SHE Procedures
• Carrying out site inductions
• Contributing to site collaborative planning and supporting the site agent in development of the project look-ahead programme, identifying change and risks
• Support the promotion of SHE initiatives and actively promote the recording of hazards and observations
• Identifying material requirements in line with the programme, highlighting requirements in a timely manner
• Ensure the temporary works process is followed
• Work with the client to support their needs and facilitate the effective delivery of the works on site 
• Ensure that you feed in to the weekly/monthly programme for your section of works and record site activity effectively 
• Ensure that site diaries are completed daily by your team for your section of works 

Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Experience of the Site Engineer / Section Engineer

• HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Understanding of Engineering Principles
• Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
• Relevant CSCS Card
• Experience in working on water projects  
• meica construction experience 

Ideal Qualifications of the Site Engineer / Section Engineer

• SMSTS
• Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
• Appointed Person, lifting training is an advantage
