Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Freelance-Site Engineer to join our team on a large-scale residential project in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that construction works are delivered accurately, safely, and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying the site in accordance with design drawings and specifications
• Interpreting technical drawings and ensuring works are carried out to the correct standards
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to coordinate works
• Managing and resolving technical queries and discrepancies
• Monitoring quality control and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and project requirements
• Overseeing groundworks, drainage, and structural elements of the build
• Maintaining accurate site records, including as-built drawings and reports
• Conducting regular site inspections to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met
• Supporting the delivery of the project to agreed timelines and budget

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer, preferably on residential developments
• Strong understanding of construction methods, setting out, and surveying equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations within construction
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related field)
