The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major water treatment infrastructure project in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor working on a high-profile scheme within the water sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day engineering activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  

• Setting out and surveying for civil engineering works.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records.
• Checking drawings and resolving engineering queries.
• Managing QA documentation and ensuring works meet specification.
• Liaising with the Site Manager, Project Manager and subcontractors.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate records.
• Assisting with planning and coordinating daily site activities.
• Monitoring quality of workmanship throughout the project.
• Supporting the successful delivery of the project to programme.

  
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Water sector experience is highly desirable.
• Experience setting out using robotic total stations and GPS equipment.
• Good understanding of QA procedures and engineering documentation.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
• First Aid at Work (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
