First Task Professional are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor on a substation project in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in civil engineering, ideally with previous experience working on substations, power infrastructure or other heavy civils projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out setting out and surveying for civil engineering works across the substation project.

• Setting out foundations, drainage, ducting, cable trenches and associated infrastructure.

• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.

• Completing QA documentation, inspections and maintaining accurate site records.

• Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider engineering team.

• Assisting with technical queries and resolving engineering issues on site.

• Ensuring all works comply with site health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.

• Substation, power transmission or energy infrastructure experience advantageous.

• Proficient in setting out using robotic total stations and GPS equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Previous experience working on reinforced concrete foundations, drainage and ducting desirable.
