Freelance Site Engineer Required!
Contract Type: Temporary – 6 Months
Start Date: 25th August 2025
Working Hours: 07:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday
Contract Scotland are seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a 6-month contract setting out for the groundworks package on a live school project north of Glasgow. Working on behalf of a well-established groundworks subcontractor, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of site engineering and setting out on this new primary school project
Role Overview
As Site Engineer, you will be supporting daily site operations including:
- Setting out for groundworks including drainage, foundations, services, roads, and hard landscaping
- Liaising with site management and the main contractor team to ensure setting out is accurate and timely
- Maintaining accurate site records and QA documentation
- Supporting subcontractor teams with technical input as required
- Working with Trimble equipment (Leica can be provided if preferred)
Requirements
- Previous experience in setting out groundworks packages on commercial or public-sector projects
- Proficient with Trimble or Leica instruments (Trimble preferred)
- CSCS card
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a busy site environment
- Available to start on or before 25th August
