We’re looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support the Section Engineer and Site Management team on a major new highways development in Didcot, Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in setting out and site-based engineering, who thrives in a collaborative environment and communicates effectively. Ideally, you’ll have experience working with a Main Contractor on highways developments.Key Responsibilities

Perform surveying and setting out dutiesReview drawings and quantities for accuracySchedule materials and coordinate with procurementPlan and organise site operations to meet deadlinesLiaise with consultants and subcontractorsSupervise site labour and subcontractor performanceEnsure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standardsMaintain quality records and resolve technical issuesArrange and conduct material testing and instrument calibrationMaintain a detailed site diaryCollaborate with the wider site team and other departmentsIdentify and implement improvements and innovationsSupport the Site Manager with additional duties as requiredPerson Specification

Technical Competencies

Essential:BSc/Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Project ManagementProven experience in a Site Engineer roleStrong setting out and surveying skillsExcellent communication and coordination abilitiesDesirable:Experience working on highways, rail, or public realm projectsFamiliarity with AutoCAD, GPS, and other surveying toolsKnowledge of construction materials and testing proceduresUnderstanding of procurement and scheduling processesHealth and Safety Requirements

Health and Safety Induction (including Management System)CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS CardFirst Aid at Work certificationBehavioural Competencies
