Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major HS2 infrastructure project based in Aylesbury. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's largest civil engineering schemes, delivering a mixture of earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities, reinforced concrete structures and associated infrastructure works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, setting out, quality control and delivery of construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out for earthworks, drainage, structures, highways and infrastructure works.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information.
• Managing and reviewing subcontractor works on site.
• Carrying out quality assurance checks and maintaining inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Preparing risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.
• Supporting the Site Agent and Section Engineer with daily site operations.
• Liaising with design teams, surveyors, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Identifying and resolving engineering and construction issues.
• Monitoring health, safety and environmental compliance across work activities.
• Assisting with temporary works coordination and implementation.
• Supporting the delivery team to achieve programme and budget targets.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out experience using GPS, Total Station and AutoCAD.
• Experience delivering multiple aspects of civil engineering works including:
  • Earthworks
  • Drainage
  • Highways
  • Utilities
  • Reinforced Concrete Structures
  • General Infrastructure
• Knowledge of QA processes, ITPs and technical specifications.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Experience working on HS2 or other major infrastructure projects.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor training.
• First Aid at Work.
• NRSWA or utility experience.
