Site Engineer - York/Driffield/Beverley
Role Overview
We are seeking a Site Engineer to join a major Yorkshire Water AMP8 framework, supporting the delivery of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a civil engineering background to play a key role in project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the Site Manager, Project Team, and subcontractors, you will support projects from initial setting out through to completion while maintaining quality, safety, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out and survey control for construction activities.
- Establish gridlines, levels, and survey controls to ensure accurate construction.
- Produce and maintain quality assurance documentation and site records.
- Undertake as-built surveys and maintain accurate engineering records.
- Monitor materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are delivered efficiently.
- Support quality inspections, testing, and handover documentation.
- Assist with planning daily site activities and resolving engineering issues.
- Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
- Mentor and support Graduate and Junior Engineers where appropriate.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience within water, utilities, highways, or heavy civil engineering projects.
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good understanding of setting out, QA procedures, and engineering controls.
Desirable
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- Experience working on Yorkshire Water or other regulated utility frameworks.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and quality management systems.
