Site Chemist (3-Month Temp to Permanent Contract)

We''re looking for a proactive Site Chemist to join our clients team in the West Midlands on a 3-month temporary to permanent contract. This is a great opportunity to learn about the waste industry whilst utilising your knowledge of wet chemistry techniques. Working closely with the Site Management team, you''ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the Transfer Station. This is a varied, hands-on role combining technical chemistry knowledge with operational support, offering excellent long-term career prospects for the right candidate. The Role As a Site Chemist, you will be responsible for inspecting, accepting and managing waste streams while ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and site permit requirements. You''ll support the day-to-day operation of the Transfer Station. Key Responsibilities Process incoming waste loads in accordance with site procedures. Arrange and prepare outgoing waste loads. Maintain accurate stock control in line with the site''s PPC Permit. Carry out pre-acceptance assessments, waste acceptance, sampling and testing. Complete and manage all associated documentation. Conduct daily inspections, logs and signage checks within the Transfer Station. Work closely with Site Operatives and fellow Chemists to ensure safe waste handling and segregation.
