Site Agent
We are recruiting a Site Agent to join a leading civil engineering main contractor on a major transport infrastructure project in Havant. The scheme involves constructing a new bridge spanning a rail line, requiring an operational leader who comes directly from a strong civil engineering background to manage the site delivery from the ground up.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take full operational ownership of the site, leading delivery teams, engineers, and subcontractors on the bridge and surrounding civils. Your day-to-day will involve:
Operational Delivery: Leading daily site operations to ensure the bridge structures, deep foundations, and civil engineering packages are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Engineering Oversight: Leveraging your technical background to drive precise engineering standards, manage temporary works, and resolve complex technical queries on site.
Subcontractor & Resource Management: Coordinating multi-disciplinary sub-contractors, direct labor, and plant allocations to maintain lookahead schedules.
HSEQ Leadership: Enforcing exemplary health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the site, leading briefings, and ensuring strict adherence to RAMS.
Commercial & Client Interface: Keeping accurate site diaries, capturing variations or scope changes alongside the commercial team, and acting as a key point of contact for client representatives.
Essential Requirements
Engineering Background (Essential): A proven track record starting out as a Site/Section Engineer before stepping up into management-degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering is required.
Structures & Civils Track Record: Strong experience as a Site Agent managing heavy civil engineering projects, bridge structures, or major highways infrastructure.
Site Credentials: Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work.
Rail Proximity (Desirable): A PTS card is beneficial but not essential, as the core package is purely civil engineering focused.
