Overview
A major 5-year framework has been awarded to deliver large-scale on-site asset maintenance activities across the North West, including supplementary engineering services and first-line support through a new helpdesk function. The framework is focused on optimising the operation of water, wastewater, and energy production assets for efficient end-to-end system management.
We are seeking experienced Freelance Site Agents to support the delivery of both core and non-core planned projects. Project values typically range between -500k3M, with responsibilities covering the safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery of multiple schemes.
This is an Outside IR35 engagement.
Role Responsibilities
As a Site Agent, you will:
Lead the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors and supply chain partners, ensuring compliance with framework standards, site-specific documentation, and SHE procedures.
Drive collaborative site planning and manage project look-ahead programmes.
Maintain control of project scope, costs, programme, and risk - escalating blockers promptly.
Promote a strong safety culture to achieve zero incidents.
Report project performance (SHEQ, time, and cost) monthly into programme controls.
Foster strong working relationships with client stakeholders, operational teams, and customers impacted by works.
Ensure statutory approvals and governance processes are adhered to.
Achieve efficient and effective handover on project completion.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience delivering water and/or infrastructure projects in a Site Agent or similar role.
Strong knowledge of CDM and Construction Management in a Principal Contractor capacity.
Excellent people and leadership skills, with a track record of leading site teams.
Sound understanding of contract management and commercial awareness from a delivery perspective.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement practical solutions.
Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands.
Proven record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Qualifications (Preferred but not Essential)
HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
CITB SMSTS qualification.
EUSR Water Hygiene (training can be provided).
Temporary Works Coordinator.
Lifting Appointed Person.
First Aid.
Confined Space Working.
