Freelance Site Agent / Site Engineer - Marine Civil Engineering Location: Newhaven, East Sussex Contract: Freelance - 6 Month Rolling Contract Rate: £400 per day (CIS) We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Site Agent / Site Engineer to oversee the delivery of marine civil engineering works on a long-term project in Newhaven. This is a freelance opportunity offering a 6-month rolling contract with the potential for ongoing work. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in civil engineering, particularly within marine, coastal, or heavy infrastructure projects, who is confident managing site operations while ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day delivery of marine and civil engineering works on site. Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and plant to ensure efficient project delivery. Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with project specifications and relevant legislation. Monitor programme progress and proactively resolve site issues. Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, and key stakeholders. Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress reports, and quality documentation. Ensure quality assurance procedures are followed and completed. Assist with planning, method statements, risk assessments, and permits where required.
