Site Agent – Scottish Borders (Freelance)

Boyd Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a freelance project across the Scottish Borders. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a civil engineering project while leading a skilled site team.

The Role

As Site Agent, you will:

• Lead and manage the site team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery

• Allocate resources effectively and ensure each team member has the right skills and support

• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions

• Monitor and analyse fully resourced programmes to meet project targets

• Manage subcontractors and build strong collaborative relationships

• Produce operational target programmes aligned with the overall construction programme

• Ensure all works meet quality standards and maintain rigorous QA control

• Uphold health & safety standards across the site

• Communicate effectively and maintain excellent organisation throughout the project

Requirements

• HND or BSc in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Proven experience on water or heavy civils projects

• Strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to mentor junior team members and drive high-performance delivery

This is a freelance assignment based in the Scottish Borders, with an immediate start.
