Ensuring inspection and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with the planned maintenance scheduleEnsuring the work tasks follow the correct proceduresConducting maintenance and repairs to the West Midland Metro signalling and telecommunications equipmentOversight of contractors carrying out planned works on the signalling and telecommunications equipmentAssisting in test and commissioning of new systemsSwitching of electrical substationsInvolvement may be necessary when external contractors are required to conduct any planned worksContinuous assessment and improvement of working practices embracing new technologiesFlexibility to respond to emergency situations and unplanned repairs outside of normal working hoursOn Call dutiesNight shift work to perform maintenance and repair work as may reasonably be required by MML managementQualifications
A good working knowledge and competence in electrical / mechanical systemsRecognised Electrical Qualification at Level 3 or aboveExperience in the use of computer based diagnostic equipmentDemonstrable computer literacy and writing skillsThe ability to read and understand electrical schematicsA full driving licenseDesirable
