Shunter Driver

We are recruiting a Class 1 Shunter Driver for a temp-to-perm position in Rochdale for one of our clients. The role involves moving trailers around the yard at there Rochdale depot, conducting vehicle checks, and ensuring safe operation of the vehicle. Shifts are 6am to 2pm-2pm to 10pm. Pay is -16.00per hour plus overtime. Must have a valid Class 1 licence, CPC and tachograph card

Duties - Class 1 Shunter Driver:

• Moving trailers around a yard, in and out of loading bays.
• Conducting pre and post-trip vehicle checks.
• Ensuring safe and legal operation of the vehicle.
• Complying with UK driving laws and tachograph regulations.
• Potentially covering Class 1 deliveries or trunking work.

• Licence: Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence.
• Experience: Shunter Driver experience preferred, minimum experience (e.g., 1 year), or experience with specific equipment like a tugmaster.
• CPC and Tachograph Card: Valid driver CPC and digital tachograph cards.
• Other: Forklift licence (if required), no more than six points on driving licence.
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements within the previous 5 years

• Good knowledge of driver''s hours and WTD regulations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Flexibility with working hours.
