The Role
The Shipping Co-ordinator is responsible for preparing shipping documentation and coordinating the despatch of goods to ensure accurate and timely delivery. The role also involves monitoring inventory values at the distribution centre, ensuring documentation meets order requirements, and supporting efforts to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raising shipping paperwork and commercial invoices prior to shipment.
- Liaise with the distribution to ensure smooth shipment of orders, for the UK and overseas.
- Coordination and consolidation of all shipments via courier/freight forwarder.
- Production of material certification, test certification and documentation, in accordance with order requirements.
- Negotiate prices and arrange collection and delivery of goods as and when required.
- Review and forward all letters of credit, and notify sales and accounts if any discrepancies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Computer Literate with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe pdf.
- Competent in English and Maths
- Shipping experience preferred but not essential.
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Able to work on own initiative
- Problem solving skills
- Strong team player.
