Job Title: Shift Supervisor (Food Manufacturing) Location: Barnsley Salary: 17.54 per hour Reporting to: Area Leader The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturing specialist in Barnsley. We are looking for a professional, decisive, and balanced Shift Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of key production departments (including High-Care Fillers, Bulk, Prep, and Packing). Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight: Manage the hour-to-hour operation of the department, ensuring production schedules are achieved in full and targets are recorded on SIC boards. Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of Production Operatives. You will handle rotas, conduct Return to Work (RTW) interviews, and manage performance (including disciplinary meetings up to stage 2). Health and Safety: Build a safe working culture. You will be responsible for pre-start checks, hazard reporting, and ensuring all near-misses are closed out with sustainable corrective actions. Quality and Compliance: Take ownership of product quality and GMP/Hygiene standards.
