Shift Production Operative

TITLE: SHIFT PRODUCTION OPERATOR

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS

RESPONSIBLE TO: TEAM LEADER AND SHIFT MANAGER

PURPOSE OF JOB: To contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the Production Plant.

MAIN TASKS:

1. Ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe manner in line with H&V''s safety policies and procedures.

2. Ensure all H&V''s quality requirements are met in line with predetermined specifications. To complete all quality checks as required.

3. Carry out all routine tasks as set out in the standard operating procedures.

4. Preferred experience with IT applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook, to be capable of using H&V''s digital inventory system. Appropriate training will be given.

5. The ability to identify operational waste sources and raise them with the Team Leader or appropriate Manager.

6. To work cooperatively with others in a safe manner. A willingness to assist all team members whenever possible, including sharing information on shift changeover.

7. Must comply with all company policies and procedures such as, but not limited to, The Code of Ethics, Dignity In the Workplace, No Smoking and Absence Policy

8. Must maintain a clean and tidy workstation and site facilities including general housekeeping.

9. Wiling to train to become proficient in the operation of all machines in the production plants.

10.Must adhere to, and responsible for the wearing of the correct PPE including work wear at all times whilst on site.

11. Working to a predetermined shift pattern. Being flexible. The shift pattern could change depending on company requirements. This is subject to a notice period.

12.Required to complete any other reasonable task, above normal responsibilities

Are you ready to play a vital role in the production of high-quality materials? Our client based in Kentmere, a leading manufacturer of nonwoven materials and engineered papers, is on the lookout for dedicated Shift Production Operatives to join their dynamic team!

What You''ll Do:

• Machine Operation: Operate production machinery safely and efficiently, making adjustments as needed to maintain product quality.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet specifications. Report any issues promptly to your supervisor.
• Production Support: Assist with material handling, load/unload raw materials and finished products, and work collaboratively with your team to meet production goals.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and report any hazards immediately to maintain a safe working environment.

What We''re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to operate production machinery and perform basic maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Work rotating shifts, including nights and days.

You will be put onto an alternating shift pattern of one week of 4 days, the following week will be 3 nights. Hours are 7am - 7pm / 7pm - 7am. No weekend work is currently required but during busier periods this is subject to change.
