Shift Multiskilled Engineer (FMCG)

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to maintain and repair production equipment, minimise downtime, and support the efficient operation of manufacturing lines. The role combines reactive and planned maintenance responsibilities while working closely with production and engineering teams to drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Description

Working shifts - 2 days and 2 nights and 4 off

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimise equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Support the implementation of new machinery and technology upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues when required.

Profile

A successful Shift Multiskilled Engineer should have:

• Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering - HNC or equivalent
• Experience working within the FMCG industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in Leigh.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in engineering and manufacturing.
