Shift Mechanical Fitter Staff 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights) Manufacturing - Salary + Allowance of £4.3K + Benefits Essex Job Purpose Responsible for carrying out plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure the reliability, safety and efficient operation of plant and associated areas. Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and production teams, supporting plant operations and responding to business requirements. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the site CMMS and maintenance schedules. Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns and faults across plant and equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment including conveyors, screws, presses, compressors, bucket elevators and associated mechanical systems. Inspect, test and maintain mechanical equipment, components and systems. Observe plant operations during production, identify potential failures and take appropriate action to minimise operational disruption. Maintain accurate shift logs and record maintenance activities, faults, follow-up requirements and spare parts. Work on piping systems, including the correct installation and maintenance of gaskets, flanges and fixings appropriate to the application. Install and maintain plastic pipework and associated equipment. Carry out alignment of drive systems using DTI and laser alignment equipment.
