iSQ Recruitment are delighted to be supporting an established international drinks manufacturing business with their search for an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is a hands-on, electrically biased multi-skilled engineering role within a fast-paced, highly automated FMCG manufacturing environment. You''ll be responsible for planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, using strong electrical, mechanical and diagnostic skills to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.

Please note: This client does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must have full Right to Work in the UK, relevant engineering experience, and a full UK driving licence with access to their own vehicle due to the location.

The Role

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you''ll provide engineering support across the production facility, responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and supporting improvements to equipment reliability and performance.

You''ll diagnose faults systematically and work across electrical, mechanical, PLC, pneumatic, automated and process systems, supporting production to minimise downtime and maintain output.

Working Pattern

This is an onsite role working a rotating 4-week shift pattern, covering 12-hour day and night shifts across weekdays and weekends.

Flexibility to work the full rotating shift pattern is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the production facility.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC and automated machinery faults.
• Interrogate PLC and control systems for diagnostic fault-finding and equipment recovery.
• Fault-find electrical panels, control circuits and automated systems using electrical drawings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, fluid-transfer and process systems.
• Work safely with 24V DC, 240V AC and 415V three-phase systems.
• Support production by prioritising engineering activity to minimise downtime.
• Work with motor drives, pumps, control valves and associated equipment.
• Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Support engineering and equipment improvement projects.
• Coach operators on equipment best practice where required.
• Maintain high standards of safety, engineering quality and housekeeping.

About You

We''re looking for an experienced Shift Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias and experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Recognised Level 3 electrical engineering qualification or equivalent
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience
• Experience within a high-volume or continuous production environment
• Experience diagnosing PLC, control panels, control circuits and electrical systems
• Knowledge of 24V DC, 240V AC and 415V three-phase systems
• Experience with automated machinery, pneumatics, motor drives, pumps and control systems
• Ability to interpret electrical and P&ID drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
• Experience with highly automated production equipment and/or SCADA systems
• Ability to work effectively and independently within a rotating 12-hour shift pattern
