SHEQ Manager

The Opportunity Our client is a growing and successful specialist contracting business entering an exciting period of transformation and continued growth. They are looking to appoint an experienced SHEQ Manager to take ownership of the company''s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance, providing competent advice, leadership and practical support across the business. This is a hands-on, operational role rather than a purely administrative or compliance position. The successful candidate will work closely with Directors, Project Managers, Designers, Site Managers, operatives, clients and main contractors to drive standards, improve systems and embed a positive culture of safety, quality and environmental responsibility. The business currently employs 75+ direct employees, with approximately 250 subcontractors working on sites, and has a turnover of around 34m. The Role The SHEQ Manager will have responsibility for: Health and Safety Act as the company''s competent HandS adviser, providing advice to Directors and operational management. Take ownership of HandS performance, policies, procedures and continual improvement. Undertake regular site inspections and SHEQ audits, ensuring actions are effectively closed out. Review RAMS, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and project HandS requirements. Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
