SHEQ Manager
Job title: SHEQ Manager
Location: Chatham
Salary: -45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week
The role:
We are looking for a proactive, practical and confident SHEQ Manager to play a key role in improving standards across the site. You will be responsible for strengthening quality, health & safety, environmental and compliance processes, while working closely with teams across the business to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities would be to:
- Maintain and improve the QMS.
- Lead internal and external audits.
- Manage customer complaints, NCRs and corrective actions.
- Drive reductions in defects, reworks and customer returns.
- Manage risk assessments, SSOW and accident investigations.
- Oversee contractor management and inductions.
- Drive employee engagement.
- Support the future development of the EMS.
- Champion workplace standards and best practices.
- Support 5S and operational excellence initiatives.
Experience and skills required:
- Previous experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or Compliance leadership role.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Good working knowledge of health & safety compliance and legislation.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Wants to make a genuine difference within a growing business.
- Passionate about building and improving systems.
- Confident challenging poor standards in a constructive way.
Desirable
- NEBOSH qualification
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
This is a hands-on, improvement-focused role, with regular time spent on the shop floor.
