The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join a growing and well-established business operating within the utilities and engineering sector.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about promoting a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards across the business. You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of SHEQ policies, procedures and management systems, working closely with teams across the organisation and carrying out site visits where required.
The Role
As SHEQ Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with UK legislation, industry standards and company policies.
- Conducting site visits, audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Assisting with accident and incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Supporting environmental management initiatives and sustainability objectives.
- Maintaining ISO management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Producing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Delivering SHEQ training, toolbox talks and guidance to employees.
- Maintaining accurate SHEQ documentation and reports.
- Promoting a proactive and positive health and safety culture across the business.
What We''re Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
- Previous experience within a SHEQ role, ideally within utilities, engineering or construction
- Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation and industry best practice.
- Experience producing and reviewing RAMS.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to carry out audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SHEQ management systems.
- A full UK driving licence.
- IOSH membership (desirable).
