A local authority in South London is seeking a dedicated Sheltered Scheme Manager to join their team and provide vital support to residents living in sheltered housing.
About the Role
As a Sheltered Scheme Manager, you''ll play a vital role in ensuring residents feel safe, supported, and connected within their homes and communities. You''ll provide high-quality housing-related support, working both independently and as part of a team. Your responsibilities will include supporting residents to maintain their tenancies, promoting wellbeing, and fostering engagement in local activities and services.
This role requires a balance of practical support, emotional intelligence, and administrative precision, all delivered with empathy and professionalism. No two days are the same - you''ll navigate changing priorities, lone working, and the need to respond flexibly to residents'' needs.
Key Responsibilities
·Welcome and induct new residents, ensuring they are informed and comfortable.
·Carry out daily welfare checks and Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessments.
·Support residents with tenancy management and referrals to external agencies.
·Promote and organise social activities to reduce isolation and foster community spirit.
·Respond to emergencies with calm and appropriate action.
·Report repairs, monitor contractor work, and ensure communal areas are well-maintained.
·Handle safeguarding concerns and liaise with relevant services.
·Maintain accurate records and performance reports.
·Support with void management, resident engagement, and scheme promotion.
About You
·Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
·Experience in housing support, care, or similar services.
·Comfortable with lone working and managing sensitive situations.
·Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and tenancy issues.
