Sheet Metal Fabrication and ToolingLocation: Preston / Fulwood Salary: From 40,000, with flexibility for the right candidate Hours: Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours - 8am till 5pm - Friday 4.30pm finish Contract: Permanent, DaysWe are recruiting for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing business.Although the role sits within RandD, previous RandD experience is not essential. The key requirement is strong hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience, combined with the ability to work from engineering drawings and manufacture components from scratch.DutiesManufacture sheet metal tooling, jigs, fixtures and prototype componentsWork from engineering and mechanical drawingsCut, bend and form sheet metalOperate press brake and guillotine machineryCarry out MIG and TIG welding only when neededDrill, grind and finish fabricated componentsModify and improve existing toolingBuild components and tools from scratchSupport testing and proving of new toolingIdentify practical engineering issues and problem-solve What We''re Looking ForWe are keen to speak to candidates with backgrounds such as:Sheet Metal WorkerSheet Metal FabricatorTooling TechnicianPrototype FabricatorTank and Vehicle FabricatorSkilled FabricatorYou should have strong sheet metal skills, be confident reading engineering drawings and have experience with bending, forming, press brake work and welding.Previous tooling or rotational moulding experience is not essential, as training can ..... full job details .....
