Shift:-6:30-16:30 Mon-Thurs overtime Friday 6:00-11:00 (paid at standard rate)

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Sewing Machinist with experience in upholstery work, including furniture, seat covers, and cushions. The ideal candidate will be confident working with a variety of materials and capable of producing neat, consistent, and high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to produce upholstery items
• Sew and assemble fabric, leather, and other materials for furniture and seating
• Interpret job sheets, patterns, and technical drawings
• Cut and prepare materials when required
• Ensure high standards of quality and accuracy in all work
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and report any faults
• Work collaboratively with upholsterers and production staff

Requirements

• Proven experience as a sewing machinist, ideally within upholstery
• Strong ability to sew straight, consistent seams on heavy materials
• Experience working with fabrics, leather, vinyl, and foam-backed materials
• Good attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
• Familiarity with industrial sewing machines

Desirable Skills

• Pattern cutting experience
• Knowledge of furniture construction or upholstery processes
• Experience in bespoke or made-to-order production
