Setting Out Engineer

Rubicon Consulting-is currently recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer-on a 3 Month Contract.

Located in Oxford-to join the civils team on a major 400kV/132kV substation build. You''ll be the person who makes sure everything is built in the right place, to the right levels and tolerances, from the first groundworks through to foundations, cable routes and steelwork bases.

What you''ll be doing

• Setting out the site: structures, foundations, drainage, roads, cable trenches, ducts and earthing
• Establishing and maintaining site control points and benchmarks
• Checking levels, lines and tolerances as work progresses, and signing off against the drawings
• Producing as-built surveys and keeping accurate records
• Working from design drawings and spotting clashes or errors early
• Supporting the site engineers and supervisors with day-to-day survey needs
• Keeping to site health, safety and quality standards at all times

What we''re looking for

Essential

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil construction projects
• Confident with total stations, GPS/GNSS and levels
• Able to read and work from civils and structural drawings
• Experience setting out groundworks, foundations and drainage
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable

• Substation, power, utilities or other major infrastructure experience
• Experience on National Grid or other HV framework projects
• Familiarity with CAD (AutoCAD or similar) and survey software such as Trimble or Leica
• CSCS Engineering Technician or relevant qualification (HNC/HND/degree in civil engineering or surveying)
• Valid SMSTS/SSSTS or First Aid, plus ECS card if relevant
