Setting Out Engineer

Job Overview Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Setting Out Engineer to join their construction team. The successful candidate is responsible for providing accurate setting out and surveying services, ensuring all construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with site management, subcontractors, and the wider project team to maintain quality, accuracy, and programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Carry out accurate setting out for structural elements, walls, partitions, floor levels, and other construction works. Establish and maintain site control points, benchmarks, gridlines, and datums. Interpret and work from construction drawings, technical specifications, and coordinated design information. Operate surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS equipment, and laser levels. Check dimensions, levels, coordinates, and alignments to ensure compliance with approved drawings. Undertake as-built surveys and maintain accurate records of setting out activities. Identify and report discrepancies between drawings, site conditions, and installed works. Liaise with site managers, engineers, subcontractors, and design teams to resolve technical queries.
