Setter Operator

An established metal fabrication and manufacturing company in County Durham is recruiting a Setter Operator to join their production team.

As Setter Operator, you will set, programme and operate punch and press machinery, working to design specifications and quality standards. This is a hands on Setter Operator position within a busy production environment, working closely with your Team Leader to hit agreed targets.

What you'll be doing

• Setting, programming and operating punch and press machinery
• Working to engineering drawings and required quality standards
• Meeting individual and team production targets in line with agreed dates
• Carrying out TPM on machinery and liaising with leadership on repairs
• Completing safety checks and documentation in line with company standards
• Contributing ideas on new working methods and manufacturing practices
• Supporting other production areas as required
• Maintaining a safe, tidy working environment in line with 5S principles

What we're looking for

• NVQ Level 2 in Machine Operations, or equivalent practical experience
• Over three years in a relevant industry, operating punch and press machinery
• Good attention to detail and a solid grasp of maths and engineering drawings
• Experience of Lean working practices
• A flexible, team focused approach

Please note that full training is not provided for this Setter Operator role, so applicants should be able to operate confidently from the outset.
