Our client is one of Europe''s leading providers of analytical testing services, delivering expert testing across air, water, dust, soil, asphalt and a wide range of construction materials. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Materials Service Technician to join their Northampton-based team, covering sites across the East Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in geotechnical engineering, construction materials, or scientific testing who is keen to build a long-term career with full training and development.
The Role
As a Materials Service Technician, you''ll travel to customer sites to carry out sampling and in-situ testing of construction materials in line with British and European Standards. You''ll play a key role in ensuring accurate test results are produced while providing excellent customer service on site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out on-site sampling and in-situ testing of construction materials
- Working closely with clients and site personnel in a professional manner
- Recording, preparing and presenting accurate test data
- Supporting colleagues with testing methods and procedures
- Checking calculations and results to ensure quality standards are met
- Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining company vehicles
- Assisting with sample preparation when required
- Supporting the wider team with additional operational duties as needed
What We''re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you''ll have:
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- A flexible, team-focused approach
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and procedures
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
