Field Service Engineer
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of an established UK engineering business specialising in security entrance and access control solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys fault finding, customer interaction and working independently in a field-based environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of electro-mechanical equipment across customer sites.
The role involves planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support and installation assistance, ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on customer equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
- Attend customer sites to complete reactive service and breakdown work.
- Ensure all service visits are completed to a high standard and within agreed service levels.
- Complete service reports and associated documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain company vehicle stock levels and manage spare parts effectively.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal technical support teams.
- Follow all health, safety and compliance procedures.
- Ensure company equipment, tools and vehicles are maintained correctly.
- Support technical improvements and contribute to continuous service excellence.
- Participate in occasional out-of-hours, weekend and overnight travel when required.

- Automatic Door Engineer
- Gate Automation Engineer
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience working on electro-mechanical equipment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Competent IT skills with experience completing digital service records.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
