Service Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Service Manager, on behalf of a well-established and growing specialist manufacturing business based in Witney, to lead its engineering and customer service function.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you''ll take ownership of the day-to-day service operation, managing a team of engineers while ensuring customers across the UK and Europe receive an excellent level of technical support.
You''ll play a key role in coordinating installations, service visits, maintenance, warranty support and customer relationships, while also helping to improve processes, efficiency and overall service performance.
If you''re an experienced service or engineering manager who enjoys being involved operationally, building strong customer relationships and leading a team from the front, this could be an excellent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead and manage a team of field-based engineers.
. Plan and coordinate installations, service visits and maintenance.
. Manage customer relationships, warranties and service contracts.
. Oversee spare parts, stock, logistics and external engineers.
. Support European distributors and travel within Europe when required.
. Monitor team performance, KPIs, costs and service efficiency.
. Work closely with Sales and other departments to deliver excellent customer service.
. Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained.
. Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
About You
We''re looking for someone with:
. 5+ years'' relevant experience in service, engineering or a field-based environment.
. Proven experience managing an engineering or service team.
. Strong customer service and communication skills.
. Excellent organisation and planning abilities.
. Experience with KPIs, reporting and budgets.
. A proactive, hands-on management style.
