Service Engineer

We are seeking a Service Engineer for a leading marine energy company based on Merseyside but operating globally to its maritime clients. The company provides battery and hybrid energy solutions that are used across the maritime industry. They offer products worldwide supported by remote and on-site monitoring to ensure a first-class customer service. Service Engineer - The Role This is a full-time permanent position working for an outstanding Company who will provide full training This role covers commissioning, annual maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance activities for Battery Energy Storage Systems. What you will do Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Inspect battery racks, modules, Battery Management System (BMS), power and communication wiring. Verify battery module voltages, temperatures, and State of Charge (SOC). Perform BMS diagnostics, firmware updates, configuration, and troubleshooting. Check alarms, event logs, and system health status. Inspect DC connections, torque critical terminals to specification, and verify insulation integrity. Test communication between BMS, PCS, EMS. Carry out battery balancing, calibration, and State of Health (SOH) verification when required. Verify operation of safety devices, breakers, contactors, fuses, emergency stop circuits, and Cooling systems. Perform functional tests and confirm normal system operation.
