Service Engineer - Field based

Newstaff Employment is recruiting for a multi-skilled Service Engineer to carry out maintenance, reactive callouts and small works on fire alarm, emergency lighting, CCTV, intruder alarm and access control systems. The role will involve diagnosing faults, liaising closely with the service team to ensure sufficient scheduling and completion of works. Complete accurate reporting including service reports. Complying with health and safety legislation, company policies and safe working conditions. Participate in the out-of-hours standby and call-out rota. Maintain the company vehicle. All other tasks as required. Requirements Proven experience servicing and maintaining both Fire Alarm and Security systems. Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm systems and BS 5839. Fire Industry Association (FIA) qualifications or equivalent. Experience maintaining Emergency Lighting systems. An electrical background. Knowledge of integrated security systems (desirable). Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. The ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements. A full UK driving licence. ECS, CSCS and/or IPAF certification (preferred). A flexible approach with willingness to travel nationally and undertake occasional overnight stays.
