Service Engineer

We are a well-established, family-run business with a strong reputation for providing high-quality service to our customers. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a hands-on Service Engineer to join our friendly and experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a varied field-based role where no two days are the same. You will be visiting customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs on wastewater and associated equipment.
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment at customer sites, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to ensure systems are operating correctly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Repairing and replacing pumps, motors, valves, sensors and associated equipment
- Carrying out fault finding on control panels and electrical systems
- Attending breakdowns and responding to customer requirements
- Working on wastewater, pumping and associated treatment systems
- Completing service reports and maintenance records
- Providing a professional and helpful service to customers
- Working independently while being supported by an experienced team
About You
We are interested in speaking with engineers who have hands-on field service or maintenance experience.
Direct septic tank experience is not essential. Experience in any of the following areas would be highly relevant:
- Pump servicing and maintenance
- Water or wastewater treatment
- Sewage treatment systems
- Pumping stations
- Drainage equipment
- Water treatment equipment
- Industrial pumps and motors
- Electromechanical equipment
- Mechanical or electrical maintenance
You should be comfortable fault finding, working with mechanical equipment and dealing directly with customers.
A background as a Pump Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Water Treatment Engineer, Wastewater Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar would be particularly relevant.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous hands-on engineering/service experience
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills
- Experience working with pumps or similar equipment
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel to customer sites
