Service Advisor

We are seeking a professional and experienced Service Advisor for our reputable client in Dorchester. This position presents an excellent opportunity for a skilled automotive specialist to join a well-established dealership, delivering exceptional customer service and supporting workshop profitability. The ideal individual will have a proven track record within the motor trade, possess a strong understanding of dealership operations, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills.

Duties of the Service Advisor:

• Welcome customers and their vehicles professionally, confirming service requirements
• Communicate vehicle status updates effectively, providing both technical and commercial advice
• Coordinate with workshop teams to ensure timely repairs and high performance standards
• Promote optional extras and accessories, maximising sales through targeted campaigns
• Manage vehicle collection and delivery schedules, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Record and maintain accurate customer and vehicle data within the dealership management system (DMS)
• Process repair orders, invoices, and warranty documentation accurately and within set timeframes
• Oversee subcontracted repairs, ensuring quality standards and completion deadlines
• Utilise manufacturer and system information effectively to support workshop processes
• Maintain warranty and parts records for warranty claims and processing

Requirements of the Service Advisor:

• Proven experience as a Service Advisor within the automotive industry
• Strong knowledge of dealer management systems or similar software
• Exceptional organisational and attention to detail skills
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with customers and workshop personnel
• Full UK Driving Licence and professional appearance
• Flexible to work hours from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday
• Willingness to work Saturday mornings on a rota basis, with overtime pay
