Our client, a prominent organisation within the Financial Services sector, is seeking a talented Service Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about financial planning and governance, eager to make a tangible impact in a vital role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive financial support across budgeting, reporting, and operational processes.
- Support annual budget setting and forecasting for revenue and capital budgets.
- Monitor actual expenditure against budget, ensuring evidence-based forecasts and reporting any variances to senior managers.
- Collaborate with budget and project managers, building strong relationships to align financial support with their objectives.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and contribute to the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit processes.
Essential Requirements:
- A Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications (AAT Level 4 or part-qualified CCAB).
- Proven experience in budget monitoring, financial reporting, and year-end closure of accounts.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of identifying variances and proposing practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Previous local council experience
