Server Platform Engineer Location: West Midlands Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary :£50,000 - £59,000 Our client is a managed services provider delivering cybersecurity, communications and connectivity solutions across the UK. They are looking for a Server Platform Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role You''ll be a technical SME responsible for delivering proactive managed services across private and public cloud infrastructure, keeping client systems secure and running optimally. You''ll own 3rd/4th line incidents and problems, and contribute to project delivery for clients and internally. Key responsibilities Proactively monitor client IT estates and maintain solutions through continuous deployment Act as a trusted technical advisor, delivering improvements across hybrid, private and public cloud environments Own escalated incidents and problem resolution Implement DR and backup strategies Take part in the on-call rota Liaise with third-party vendors and mentor colleagues What you''ll need Strong hypervisor experience (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, HPE VME) Solid Microsoft stack knowledge (Windows Server, AD, SQL, networking) Strong Azure experience PowerShell/Ansible automation skills SAN experience (3PAR, Dell Unity, HP MSA) Networking experience (Cisco ASAv, Fortigate, Juniper) DR technology experience SC clearance eligibility (required) James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.
