Server Engineer

Server Engineer - SC Cleared Active SC Clearance is required for this position. We''re working with a well-established organisation in the Financial Services sector to recruit an experienced Server Engineer to join its infrastructure team. This role offers the opportunity to support a large-scale Windows server estate while playing a key part in modernisation and infrastructure improvement initiatives. You''ll be responsible for managing both physical and virtual server environments, ensuring systems remain secure, resilient, and highly available. Alongside day-to-day operational support, you''ll contribute to server lifecycle activities, automation, and ongoing infrastructure projects. Location: Central London (Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite) The Role As a Server Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Building, configuring, deploying, maintaining, and retiring Windows servers across physical and virtual environments. Supporting enterprise Windows Server infrastructure, ensuring stability, availability, and performance. Creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts to automate administration and streamline operational tasks. Managing core Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Administering VMware vSphere environments, with Hyper-V experience viewed as an advantage. Delivering server patching, operating system upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
